Level
1 - Introduction to 3D computer graphics Begins
with a general overview of principles related to
animation and 3D Computer Graphics (CG) and concludes
with an introduction to the digital toolset in
LightWave 3D. The student will Model, Texture and
Animate a few simple objects in several short-format
projects.
Level 2 -
Basic LightWave / 3D skills Features
more Complex projects in LightWave, along with Modeling,
texturing and animating 3D props and vehicles. Virtual
sets and environments are also created in a final
project.
Level 3 -Intermediate
modeling and surfacing Continues
where Level 2 leaves off. Methods for 'hard surface'
and organic modeling are introduced. Specialized
surfacing concepts and techniques, such as shaders
and UV mapping are covered, with an emphasis on integrated
Lighting and texturing effects.
Level 4 -
Animation Concentrates
on the fundamental principles of animation, and the
proper application of those principles. Early projects
begin with simple actions (such as animating a bouncing
ball) and finishes with a walking humanoid character.
Character 'rigging' with bones, deformers and Inverse
Kinematics is covered, as are the creation and use
of morphs.
Level 5 -
Digital Movie Making Covers
the basic principles of CG Cinematography, lighting
and editing. An introduction to LightWave's intergrated
effects (FX) systems including particles and hypervoxels
is also featured. Control and flexibility of the
final image are maximized through the theory and
technique of 'Multi-pass' rendering. |
